According to the results of scientific work carried out at the institute, the employees of the institute received more than 200 copyright certificates.
The results of the research work have been repeatedly demonstrated in the Exhibition Centers of other countries and the former USSR’s People Achievements, also was rewarded with 7 gold, 11 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Employees of the institute were awarded various state prizes for the application of their achievements in science:
1. Laureate of the Republican Lenin Comsomol Prize for "Development of structures and resource-saving construction technologies for high-rise buildings" (2 people).
2. Laureate of the All-Union Lenin Comsomol Prize for "Development of nature protection structures from used raw materials" (1 person).
3. Award of the USSR Council of Ministers for "Development of effective methods for the construction of water management facilities on clay soils" (1 person).
4. Laureates of the All-Union Exhibition of People's Achievements (5 people).
5. To the honorary title of "Honored Architect of the Republic" (2 people).
The main goals and objectives of the activity of ASRICA for the development and improvement of the republican construction complex are:
- implementation of scientific researches in the field of architecture and construction science;
- studying the behavior of buildings during earthquakes and strong winds by using modern seismometers installed in different types of buildings and making observations for application in design;
- conducting researches to ensure the longevity, reliability and resilience of buildings and facilities to natural disasters (earthquakes, landslides, etc.) during operation;
- research of buildings and structures, construction structures and construction materials;
- development of buildings and facilities, new constructive solutions, improvement of calculation methods and analysis of results obtained from the procedures;
- research of ground bases, foundations of buildings;
- conducting researches and provide opinions for the construction of buildings and facilities in complex ground conditions (slippery, swollen and collapsed soils);
- development of reinforcement and restoration projects to increase the durability of buildings and structures and ensure spatial rigidity;
- development of methodological guidelines, equipments, etc. for the application of the results of research in design and practice
In ASRICA has carried out thousands of scientific and engineering researches for 35 years. The results of the implemented work were applied in design and practice. The results applied in the strengthening, restoration and reconstruction of buildings and structures that were deformed both during operation and as a result of natural disasters have enabled the safe operation of the country's historical and modern buildings.
In ASRICA in the direction of the engineering examination, strengthening, restoration and reinforcement of the earthquake resistance of buildings and facilities, constructions of damaged and deformed, collapsed buildings and facilities and their foundations, ground bases the following works are carried out:
- assessment of degree of earthquake resistance of buildings and facilities in operation according to the current construction standards;
- engineering inspection of buildings in a state of emergency or in need of reconstruction, development of proposals and projects for their restoration and strengthening;
- development of proposals for the examination, protection, restoration and strengthening of architectural and historical monuments;
- assessment of technical condition of constructions of buildings and structures, development of recommendations and projects for their strengthening and restoration;
- examination of foundations and ground bases of deformed buildings and structures and development of engineering measures and projects for their strengthening;
- determination of physical and mechanical properties of materials of load-bearing structures of buildings and assessment of load-bearing capacity;
- quality control of materials (concrete, armature) that make up the structures of buildings under construction;
Since its establishment to the present day, in ASRICA, thousands of research and examination works were conducted in the following directions and their results have been applied:
- In the direction of engineering inspection, reconstruction, restoration and strengthening of buildings and facilities which structures have been deformed and have fallen into an emergency state, engineer examination of Baku city’s architectural pearls and unique buildings such as Azerbaijan State Philharmonic, National Academy of Sciences, Baku State University, National Drama Theater, Young Audience Theater, Cabinet of Ministers, Cultural Center named after Shahriyar, Russian Drama Theater, Puppet Theater, Art Museum named after R.Mustafayev, Nizami, Araz, Azerbaijan cinema buildings and hundreds of residential, public and industrial buildings of various purposes was carried out in separate settlements and engineering proposals and projects for their strengthening were developed.
- Landslides of Bayil and Ahmadli slopes of Baku and etc., also the landslide zones in different territories of the republic were studied, engineering proposals and recommendations were developed to ensure their safety.
- Considering the world experience, design of earthquake-resistant buildings and structures in 7, 8 and 9 magnitude seismic regions is carried out with modern calculation systems in accordance with the requirements of current construction norms and regulations.
Hundreds of projects and experimental project works have been carried out at the institute, and on the basis of these projects, buildings and facilities have been built and put into operation in Baku and various regions of the country:
Olympic Sports Complexes in Ganja and Nakhchivan, 50-class experimental school building in Sumgayit, 300-bed hospital complex in Bilajari settlement, Baku city, residential complexes for Khudafarin and Giz galasi hydroelectric power stations, 5-storey residential houses in Lokbatan settlement, 16-storey monolithic concrete-iron core large panel buildings for the first time in the republic, 4-storey residential building with 32 apartments in Agstafa, Baku city, Binagadi settlement, school building 205 for 960 pupils, strengthening project of load-bearing structures of the Palace of Hand Games on Neftchilar ave., reconstruction and strengthening projects (construction part) of school building 132 and 134 located at Istiglaliyat street, Baku city, Nizami district, "McDonalds" building project at the intersection of G. Garayev avenue and Rustam Rustamov streets, facade reconstruction projects (construction part) of 16-storey residential buildings located at 1 and 2 adresses, F.Amirov Street, Baku city, reconstruction projects of the facades of existing 10-story residential buildings No. 2, 2a, 2b and 4 on I. Nabiyev street, Yasamal district, Baku city, Reconstruction projects of the facades of existing 9-story residential buildings No 117-119, 121-123, 125-127, 129-131, 133-135, 143-147, 149-155, 157-161, 37-39, 41-43, 45-47 on Atatürk avenue, Narimanov district, Baku city and other projects.
Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute of Construction and Architecture was twice awarded the winner's diploma according to the results of the 10th (2014) and 11th (2015) International Competition held by the Organizing Committee for cooperation in the field of construction between CIS countries and the institute was included in the "Golden Book" of the International Competition of the most advanced project and construction organizations.
According to the decision of the Organizational Committee of the International Rating Union of the National Business Rating and the National Business Rating of Azerbaijan dated 17.09.2015, according to the results of 2015 and to the "Classification of services in economic activity" of the enterprises in the Republic of Azerbaijan, related to the data of the World Ratings Chamber, "General nomination" (gold) and "Total turnover" (gold) indicators, АSRICA was awarded the 1st place.
The awarding of the enterprise was carried out by the Organizing Committee of the National Business Rating in Baku on November 12, 2015.
