On October 5, The Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum started working on the topic "Sustainable Development Goals" and "New Urban Agenda" - as the leading force of recovery and reconstruction in the post-conflict period" with the joint cooperation of the UN Habitat Program (UN-HABITAT) and the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, with the organizational support of ADA University, in Agdam.
The forum was opened by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Executive Director of UN Habitat organization Maimouna Mohd Sharif. The participants discussed the main urban problems emerging in Azerbaijan and demonstrated international experience in the relevant field.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening ceremony of the forum. The head of state spoke at the event. A declaration on the results of the first Azerbaijan National City Forum held in Aghdam was adopted.
Participants: About 500 international, national and local participants participated. At the forum, a large number of leading scientists and engineers of AzIMETI, including director of the institute A.N. Garayev, deputy for scientific affairs N.R. Yusifov, head of the laboratory R.A. Rzayev and others.
