"Scientific and technical progress in construction and architecture" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Construction and Architecture Scientific Research Institute, established in 1984, held an international scientific and technical conference on October 16-17, 2014.

Following scientific directions were discussed in the conference:

1. Architecture and urban planning.

2. Earthquake-resistant constructions.

3. Construction structures, buildings and facilities.

4. Geotechniques and ecology of construction.

5. Construction materials.

6. Organization and management of construction.

56 scientific articles received from scientists of countries such as Russia, Japan, Ukraine, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia and individual scientific institutions of Azerbaijan to the organizing commission of the international conference "Scientific and technical progress in construction and architecture", were published as a collection of conference materials. 

More than 150 scientists and professionals, including scientists from Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and Kazakhstan participated in the work of the conference.

In his speech, the director of the institute, Mr. A.N. Garayev, informed the participants of the conference that he has successfully solved the issues facing the institute for 30 years, the construction complex of the republic has become one of the leading centers of science and currently has a strong scientific potential. Speaking at the conference, the representatives of various organizations of the republic stated that the work entrusted to the institute for 30 years was carried out at a high level professionally, and confidently noted that they are sure that the problems arising in the work processes will be solved by the scientific and technical potential of AzIMETI.Representatives of various organizations of the republic, performing in the conference, informed that, works commissioned to the institute during 30 years were executed with high quality and professionalism and indicated they are sure that, scientific-technical potential of ASRICA will settle problems occurred during working processes.

Both foreign and Azerbaijani scientists, participated in the conference made a wide discussion about the most actual problems of construction and architecture sciences- architectural monuments of Azerbaijan, earthquake-resistant buildings, foundations, basics and geotechniques, standard documents and so on.

Foreign guests speaking at the conference: Mr. G.G. Farenyuk, director of Construction Constructions Institute of Kyiv (Ukraine), F.M. Shokbarov, director of Almaty Seismic Research Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, C.I. Gigineishvili, director of LTD "PROGRESI" of the Republic of Georgia, Turkey (Istanbul city) Burak Toydemir from Yıldız Technical University, V.A.Veshnyakov from RF Arkhangelsk University of Architecture and Construction and others emphasized that, ASRICA has a share in Azerbaijan's success today and also positive effect of economic development of the country on the activity of the institute and wished successes to institute staff.
